Rumors still circulating about Davante Adams being traded to New York Jets

It must be a theme week for ESPN's weekday Get Up morning show because it's been all about New York Jets fans' Davante Adams fantasy the past few days.

On Tuesday, NFL quarterback-turned-analyst Dan Orlovsky dropped a bold prediction that Adams is destined to join the Jets sooner rather than later.

"I think this is a done deal. At some point, Davante Adams plays for the Jets this season," said Orlovsky, punctuating a monologue on the hot topic.

On Wednesday, Get Up host Mike Greenberg, an obnoxiously overt Gang Green supporter, reported the subsequent statement made by Adams's agents claiming "there has been absolutely. no trade talk." Seemingly unconvinced by the agents' words, Greenberg proceeded to propose the idea of an in-season trade between the Jets and the Las Vegas Raiders .

"If the Raiders are off to a slow start, if we get to mid-to-late October and the Raiders have fallen somewhat out of contention, [they] might be trying to trade away a veteran who makes a lot of money, it might make a lot of sense...," said Greenberg.

By the end of the show segment entitled "Is Davante Adams to Jets a realistic possibility?," analyst Louis Riddick unleashed a dose of reality.

"Why don't they try and go out and get Trent Williams, too? Maybe they should go out and try and get Lane Johnson, too," ranted Riddick. "Why don't they just try to get everybody? Just ask every team, 'Hey, can I have your best player?'"

Last week, Jets' quarterback Aaron Rodgers said the words "I can't wait to play with [Davante], again" while speaking to a reporter during his practice round at the American Century Championship celebrity golf tournament. Starting running back Breece Hall also addressed the Adams-related speculation during an appearance on the Up & Adams show.
