5 QB Sleepers to Target in Your Fantasy Football Draft
By Luke Easterling,

This time of year, we’re all gearing up for our fantasy football drafts, which means trying to identify the late-round bargains and under-the-radar roster stashes who could eventually prove to be difference-makers throughout the season.
If you’re looking for those names at quarterback this year, here are a handful of sleepers who shouldn’t cost you a ton on draft day, but could pay off big-time as you chase your league championship this year:
Jayden Daniels, Commanders
When it comes to this year’s rookie QB class, fantasy managers are sure to chase Caleb Williams, but Daniels could easily be the better value. The No. 2 overall pick in this year’s draft, Daniels joins a Commanders team that’s likely to be trailing plenty this season, which will lead to game scripts that favor tons of passing across all four quarters. He’s also an explosive playmaker as a runner, and since most leagues give out points at a higher rate for rushing yards than passing yards, breaking off those big runs could pay huge dividends for your fantasy team.
Daniels will have the benefit of some impressive weapons, too, namely veteran wide receiver Terry McLaurin and recent first-round pick Jahan Dotson. He’s the perfect backup plan to stash on your bench, but his upside as both a passer and a runner could have him in your starting lineup sooner than later, and maybe even winning you the league title.
Last year, Mayfield signed a cheap one-year deal with the Bucs to prove he could still be a quality starter in the NFL. He responded with the best season of his career, earning Pro Bowl honors for the first time while leading the Bucs to a third straight NFC South title, defying preseason predictions that had Tampa Bay among the league’s worst teams following Tom Brady’s retirement.
Mayfield will still have all of his most important weapons this year (Mike Evans, Chris Godwin, Rachaad White), an improved offensive line, and the arrival of a familiar face as his new offensive coordinator (Liam Coen). The Bucs rewarded Mayfield this offseason with a new three-year contract extension, and he should live up to it with another impressive year on the stat sheet, which makes him a potential value target in your fantasy drafts.
Trevor Lawrence, Jaguars
It may seem strange to consider Lawrence a “sleeper” considering his high profile as an elite prospect entering the league as the No. 1 overall pick and the massive contract he just got from the Jags. That said, he’s currently coming off the board as QB16 ( according to Fantasy Pros ), which firmly plants him in the “value” category when it comes to starting quarterbacks across the fantasy football landscape.
Lawrence lost veteran wide receiver Calvin Ridley this offseason, but he gained free agent Gabe Davis and first-round pick Brian Thomas Jr. from LSU, so it’s not a stretch to think that his group of pass-catchers could be even better this year despite Ridley’s absence. He’s in a solid offense under head coach Doug Pederson, has plenty of weapons around him, and now the vote of confidence from the team after signing such a huge contract. This could be the year Lawrence breaks out and lives up to his lofty potential.
Will Levis, Titans
Levis took his lumps as a rookie last season, but showed some flashes of promise that should have Titans fans excited about his future. The arrival of Brian Callahan as head coach should aid in Levis’ development, and should give him a scheme that will play to his strengths while he continues to refine his skill set as a passer.
There’s no doubt Levis has a rocket for a right arm, and his combination of toughness and athleticism make him an underrated rushing threat as well. He’s likely to get some goal-line touches that should turn into touchdowns, and the addition of Ridley to a receiving corps that already featured one elite veteran in DeAndre Hopkins is a huge win for a young and developing quarterback with tons of raw talent. You should be able to stash Levis in the later rounds, and if he hits his ceiling, he could be a massive steal.
Russell Wilson, Steelers
Yes, Wilson’s stint in Denver was nothing short of a debacle. Whether it was Nathaniel Hackett or Sean Payton running the offense, Wilson never looked like the same player who had a Hall of Fame career in Seattle. That said, that player might still be in there somewhere, and a change of scenery might be just what Wilson needs to rediscover the player who went to nine Pro Bowls and won a Super Bowl.
Wilson will have to fight off a talented challenger in Justin Fields, but his experience and track record of success pre-Broncos should give him the edge. The Steelers invested heavily in improving their offensive line this year, and Wilson’s arm talent is exactly what this offense needs to take full advantage of George Pickens’ limitless potential. If Wilson can get anywhere close to the quarterback he was in his prime, he’ll prove to be a massive fantasy bargain for those who take a chance on him.
