You Think You Know A’ja Wilson? Here Are Three Things the WNBA Star Says You Don’t Know

She’s a two-time WNBA champion, a New York Times best-selling author, was named to Time Magazine’s 100 Most Influential People of 2024 list — and, of course, she has a shoe ( Nike A’One coming in 2025 ). But there’s so much more to A’ja Wilson than her fans know.

During the 2024 WNBA All-Star festivities in Phoenix, the 27-year-old star of the Las Vegas Aces spoke with FN about a few of the things her fans may not know about her. These are three fun facts Wilson shared about herself.

She Is Better at Uno Than You

“I am an Uno champion. I win a lot. I get busy. Any Uno — whether it’s Flip, No Mercy, Wow — I’m there. I’m the champ. I take no prisoners. Everything’s personal in Uno. My mom, she can get a draw four, I don’t care. Anyone can get it. It does not matter.”

    She Is a Movie Buff

“I love movies. I am a movie fanatic. I love rewatching movies 1,000 times, I love watching new movies, different movies. I will go to the movies by myself.”

    She Is an Introvert

“This is going to sound crazy, but I’m really a shy person. I really keep to myself. I feel like when people see me on court and they see my personality there, they think that I’m like that 24/7. The only reason I’m like that is because I’m passionate about my job and it really brings it out of me. But in general, I’m pretty to myself. I don’t really talk or get into different things until someone comes up to me and then I get a feel for them. I’m an introvert, I really just stay to myself and I don’t think a lot of people know that.”

The 2024 WNBA All-Star Game will take place July 20 at the Footprint Center, and will air live at 8:30 pm. ET on ABC. With the Olympics almost here, this year’s WNBA All-Star Game format is USA Women’s National Team (which includes Wilson) versus Team WNBA.
