Dan Orlovsky Facing Intense Backlash For Pushing Josh Allen Narrative

After an NFL executive called Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen "overrated," ESPN's Dan Orlovsky didn't hold back in his defense of Allen.

Then, FS1's Nick Wright didn't mince words when discussing Orlovsky's defense of Allen. In fact, Wright blasted Orlovsky, arguing that he was pushing a false narrative around Allen.

"I heard [Orlovsky say] he's two or three plays away from being in multiple Super Bowls," Wright said opening his counterargument. "What are the plays? Tell me. Tell me the two or three plays that put Josh Allen in the Super Bowl. Because I can go through the career."

Wright proceeded to do that -- go through Allen's postseason career.

Allen holds a 5-5 career playoff record. But in his lone AFC Championship game appearance, the Bills lost by 14 points.

Buffalo suffered an overtime loss and a defeat because of a missed field goal at the end of regulation two of the last three postseasons. Each of those contests were in the AFC divisional round.

Orlovsky's "two or three plays away" comment came Tuesday in response to an NFL executive calling Allen overrated. Orlovsky called the NFL executive "an idiot."

"One of the more overrated players in the NFL," a veteran NFL executive told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler . "Immense talent but he makes a lot of mistakes. He's underdeveloped at winning at the line of scrimmage, tends to lock on to targets, more of a thrower than precision passer, forces throws into traffic."

Wright said he agreed with the NFL executive.
