Tiger Woods will be taking some time away from competitive golf after missing the cut at the 152nd Open Championship at Royal Troon this week.

Woods, who fired rounds of 79-77 on Thursday and Friday to finish at +14 overall and well outside the cutline, informed reporters after his second round that they shouldn't anticipate seeing him play again until The Hero World Challenge in December.

The 15-time major champion also committed to two other events on Friday - the 2024 PNC Championship and the 2025 Open Championship at Royal Portrush.

"Will we see you at [Royal] Portrush next year? Next year's Open," Woods was asked after missing the cut.

"Next year's Open? Oh, yeah. Definitely," Tiger replied.

Considering the limited schedule Woods has played over the past few years due to his health, it wasn't a guarantee that fans would see the longtime PGA Tour golfer again this year after the final major of the 2024 season.

After Friday's comments, the golf world can now expect to see him twice in December with The Hero World Challenge being played Dec. 5-8 and the PNC Championship running from Dec. 20-22.
