Reason why General Hospital fans are convinced Hudson West is quitting the show

General Hospital spoiler alert - Jake Webber is set to depart to Spain to attend art school.

The move means many fans of the show and actor Hudson West believe he will be leaving screens soon to embark on a new adventure. With Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) having recently returned from the dead and the pair finally seen reconciling following months of not seeing eye to eye, as well as Jason now paying for Jake's education, many are wondering why Jake would be choosing to leave town.

Here, we've taken a look at some of the fan theories surrounding Hudson's future on the popular soap opera.

As of yet, neither Hudson or General Hospital have confirmed that he will be leaving, however, his IMDB page does show that he is currently signed up to three projects that could mean he needs time away from the soap. If that is the case fans will see him head off for a while at least while he focuses on his other work.

Hudson is signed on to star in a thriller titled The Arborist, and is billed as playing a Young Butch in Butch Cassidy’s upcoming Forgotten Outlaw movie. He is also slated as working on anthology television series Like It Was Yesterday, for the role of Young Cole.

Fans of General Hospital have been sharing videos of scenes starring both Jake and Jason on X, with Hudson sharing the touching tributes on his own social media. Monday (July 15) saw a heart-warming exchange take place between the pair when Jason gave him the money he needed to attend art school.

However, Jake departing for Spain however doesn't necessarily mean that he will be on the show any less. He is featured sporadically already and could well return to Port Charles all the time for many reasons including in the holidays.

As viewers have seen Charlotte Cassadine (Scarlett Fernandez) who was sent away to boarding school recently already made a shock return to the soap this week. There is of course also the option that in fact some drama is set to occur before Jake goes anywhere and that he will end up staying in Port Charles after all and not travelling to Europe to embark on his art school dream.

We can expect to find the answers very soon with scenes of his plans to travel and his scheduled departure likely to take place in no time at all on the show.
