Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark made the All-Star roster her rookie season, while her teammates, Aliyah Boston and Kelsey Mitchell, each earned their second nod.

The All-Star squad, coached by the legendary Cheryl Miller, face tough competition against Team USA, a stacked roster representing America at the 2024 Paris Olympics this summer.

Approximately 20 minutes before tip-off on July 20, the starting lineup for the All-Star squad was announced. The starters include DeWanna Bonner, Jonquel Jones, Arike Ogunbowale, Nneka Ogwumike, and Clark.

It's incredibly rare for a rookie to named to the All-Star starting lineup. In fact, she’s just the ninth rookie in WNBA history to earn a start.

Boston was a starter during the WNBA All-Star game last year, becoming the first rookie to do so since 2014.  Other rookies to make the starting lineup include Shoni Schimmel, Tamika Catchings, Maya Moore, Sue Bird, Brittney Griner, Elena Delle Donne, and Chamique Holdsclaw.

Clark made the most of her minutes against Team USA. While she struggled on threes, early in the third quarter, she broke the WNBA record for most assists (9) by a rookie in an All-Star game

When asked during the broadcast if she's looking to break the non-rookie record, Clark brushed it aside until she learned Sue Bird held the all-time assists record during the All-Star game (11).

"It’s Sue’s? Then I’m breaking it," Clark said. "Sue's been talking crap all game (courtside). If it’s anybody else, they can keep it."

Clark didn't break Bird's record, but she finished with 4 points, 10 assists, 2 rebounds, and 2 steals.

The WNBA All-Stars, led by Ogunbowale's 32 points -- the most points scored in All-Star game in league history, defeated Team USA 117-109.
