Caitlin Clark Breaks WNBA Record During All-Star Game

On Saturday, Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark participated in her first WNBA All-Star game. Not only did she do this in her first season as a pro, but she also received a spot in the starting lineup for Team WNBA.

Now, in her first appearance, Clark has already broken a WNBA All-Star game record, adding to her elite resume.

At the 8:08 mark of the third quarter, Clark picked up her ninth assist of the game and passed former Atlanta Dream star Shoni Schimmel for the most assists ever by a rookie in a WNBA All-Star game. She did this on a pass to Dallas Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale for a three-pointer.

Schimmel recorded the previous All-Star record of eight assists back in 2014.

Clark decided to show off her playmaking skills rather than her shooting talents during the game, as she only had two points when she picked up her record-breaking assist.

This is not the only record Clark has broken during her WNBA rookie season. In her most recent game, when the Fever battled the Wings, Clark recorded 19 assists, breaking a WNBA single-game record.

Clark has led the Fever to an 11-15 record going into the Olympic break. The All-Star game will be her last WNBA action for nearly a month.
