Calls Mount For Team USA To Make Massive Caitlin Clark Correction After WNBA All-Star Game

Caitlin Clark didn't have the best performance as a scorer in the WNBA All-Star Game, but against Team USA's Olympic squad, she showed that she's the best playmaker on the floor.

Clark finished with a game-high 10 assists, just two short of Sue Bird's All-Star record for the most assists (11) in an All-Star game. Kelsey Plum had the most dimes for Team USA, albeit recording just six.

With that said, fans couldn't help but demand that Team USA consider bringing in Clark. After all, the Indiana Fever rookie has shown that she can impact winning beyond just her 3-point shooting.

"Initially I didn’t think Caitlin Clark should’ve made the Olympic team because I overweighted certain aspects. But her passing and command for the offense would’ve been great for this team.. and that’s not even bringing up the international business side of things," a fan argued.

Another one shared, "Caitlin Clark belonged on the women's Olympic team. Not only will it hurt ratings, but it will hurt fans... It's truly disgusting Caitlin Clark isn't on the Olympic team."

"Seems like the women’s Olympic team could use a Caitlin Clark," an X user furthered.

A WNBA supporter added, "Caitlin Clark is best passer in WNBA. Angel Reese is best rebounder. Arike is best ISO player. They belong on Olympic team."

A social media user also asked if it's still possible to petition for a roster change, especially with Angel Reese and Arike Ogunbowale also both playing impressive games alongside Clark on Saturday.

"Team WNBA upsetting Team USA. Can we petition for Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese, and Arike Ogunbowale to play for us in the Olympics!?!?" the fan noted.

"It’s time to have some f**king conversations. One point guard had 10 assists. One had 5 with the Olympic team. I don't want to hear fucking shit. Caitlin Clark is the best point guard in the league," an angry supporter added.

A commenter added, "Caitlin Clark isn't on the Olympic team.. Imagine not putting Caitlin Clark on the Olympic team!"

It's unknown if Team USA will actually make some changes to the roster after its loss to Team WNBA. But should the top brass decide to do so, there seems to be a path for that since teams in the Olympics are allowed to have alternate players in case of injury or other unforeseen circumstances.

Clark has been mentioned previously as a top alternate, per Shams Charania of The Athletic.

Despite that, however, fans shouldn't get their hopes up. Team USA seems pretty set with its roster, and losing against a talented squad of superstars isn't necessarily a big reason to panic. Not to mention, the Olympics is starting soon, with the opening scheduled for July 26.
