While the 2024 WNBA All-Star Weekend was extremely entertaining and one of the best in recent memory, it has led to a lot of controversy for Team USA. There has already been prior drama with Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark's absence from the team, but after Team WNBA's victory, that drama has spread to other players.

There were multiple players who succeeded in the game and proved that they are good enough to have a spot on Team USA's roster. Even conceptually, the official Olympic team losing to players that all missed out on a spot isn't a good look, to say the least, particularly for the selection committee as one fan pointed out.

As previously mentioned, there were multiple players that fans feel as though deserved a spot on the team, including Angel Reese of the Chicago Sky and All-Star game MVP Arike Ogunbowale of the Dallas Wings. That said, Ogunbowale actually withdrew herself from consideration due to politics.

Even so, fans still believe that Team USA greatly missed with the rookies.

While it's clear what the consensus opinion is, it was only one game, and can't really be used to judge whether or not players deserve to be on the roster. That said, these players did show out, and definitely left a sour taste in the mouth's of the selection committee.
