Las Vegas Raiders foolishly named potential trade partner for two RBs

The Las Vegas Raiders ' running backs room will look drastically different in 2024, as the team lost Josh Jacobs in free agency and acquired new talent this offseason.

Due to his stellar play towards the end of last season, Zamir White is expected to serve as the team's RB1, with Alexander Mattison being the backup. Rookie Dylan Laube and veteran Ameer Abdullah are also on the roster and provide fascinating versatility as receiving threats and returners.

Despite boasting an exciting and young running backs group, For The Win's Cory Woodroof believes general manager Tom Telesco should look into acquiring two running backs via trade: Miles Sanders and Jamaal Williams.

Though Las Vegas' running backs room lacks significant starting experience, giving up draft capital for running backs like Sanders or Williams would be foolish.

Both are coming off horrible seasons, as Sanders struggled in his first campaign with Carolina, rushing for just 432 yards and averaging 3.3 yards per carry before ceding lead-back duties to Chuba Hubbard.

It's clear that the former Penn State standout's success with the Philadelphia Eagles was primarily because of the elite offensive line the team had.

After a 17-touchdown season with Detroit in 2022, Williams had the worst year of his career in 2023, totaling 306 rush yards and one touchdown. The former fourth-round pick also averaged an abysmal 2.9 yards per carry.

Trading draft picks for an inefficient running back would be an incompetent move by Telesco. White and Mattison are cheaper, younger, and more efficient versions backs and will provide a refreshing blend of speed and power to Luke Getsy's offense.
