Billie Jean King Summed Up Caitlin Clark, Angel Reese's WNBA All-Star Debut in One Word

Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese both took the court for their respective WNBA All-Star Game debuts on Saturday night — and both superstar rookies set all-time All-Star Game records.

Clark set the All-Star Game rookie record for assists with 10. Angel Reese became the first rookie in WNBA All-Star Game history to record a double-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds.

Dallas Wings guard Arike Ogunbowale also set an All-Star Game record, dropping 34 points and winning MVP.

Women's sports icon Billie Jean King took to social media to describe these records with one word: "Outstanding."

King, an all-time great tennis legend, has been a strong supporter of the growth of women's basketball — especially when it comes to Clark, Reese and this year's talented rookie class.

"This generation is so important for the WNBA, you have to set an example. Children are watching. How do you want to be remembered? This generation has a chance to set this league on fire. Don’t blow it with animosity. Do not blow it. Just play ball," King wrote on X last month.

Clark and Reese now have a month of rest before the WNBA season resumes after the Olympic break in mid August.
