The WNBA All-Star Game was an exciting battle between Team WNBA and Team USA. With USA Basketball preparing for the Olympics, their women's roster went head to head with the WNBA All-Star team, and fell by a final score of 117-109.

Team WNBA was led by Dallas Wings star Arike Ogunbowale, who finished with 34 points and six assists in the victory. Indiana Fever star Caitlin Clark did not shoot well, but did tally a rookie-record 10 assists.

At one point in the game, ESPN mics caught a conversation between Clark and Phoenix Mercury guard Sophie Cunningham. Asking Clark if she wants to come to Phoenix, Cunningham got a laugh out of Indiana's star point guard with her recruitment attempt:

Selected 13th overall by Phoenix in the 2019 WNBA Draft, Cunningham has spent her entire career with the Mercury. In 167 games with Phoenix (79 starts) Cunningham has averaged 7.6 points per game in 22.2 minutes per game. Cunningham's best season came in 2022 when she finished third in Most Improved Player voting after averaging 12.6 points per game.

Not an All-Star, Cunningham was able to enjoy the festivities in Phoenix as a fan:

The Mercury were well-represented at this game, with Diana Taurasi, Brittney Griner, and Kahleah Copper each being members of Team USA.

WNBA All-Star Weekend is always a fun time, and this year was especially entertaining with the Team WNBA vs. Team USA format. With Ogunbowale's big night, Clark's rookie assist record, Angel Reese's double-double, and more, this All-Star game had something for every WNBA fan.

After watching Clark up close, Cunningham wants her on the Mercury.
