Haason Reddick won’t report to New York Jets training camp amid a contract dispute, according to ESPN’s Adam Schefter.

The Jets traded a conditional third round pick in 2026 to the Philadelphia Eagles to land the pass rusher. After highly productive years with the Eagles, Reddick was expected to replace Bryce Huff , who ironically signed with Philadelphia, in that department.

However, he doesn’t want to play on the final year of his deal and is seeking a new deal with New York.

“Sources: Jets DE Haason Reddick, who has not landed the new contract he has been seeking, is not planning to report to training camp today with the rest of his team,” Schefter wrote on Twitter. “The Jets traded a conditional 2026 third-round pick that could become a second-round pick when they acquired Reddick this offseason from Philadelphia. Reddick is in the final year of his contract and is scheduled to make $14.5 million this season.”

If Reddick plays 67.5% of the snaps this season and has at least 10 sacks, the Eagles would receive a second-round pick. If not, they’ll get a third-round pick instead.

Haason Reddick to hold out of Jets training camp?

During two separate playoff campaigns for the Eagles, Reddick accumulated 27 sacks with six forced fumbles, an interception and 9.5 tackles for loss as one of the team’s defensive leaders. He joined Philadelphia off of a one-year deal with the Carolina Panthers. In 16 games for the Panthers in 2021, he racked up 68 tackles with 11 sacks.

Reddick started his career with the Arizona Cardinals. They drafted him with the No. 13 overall pick in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft out of Temple. He played four seasons for the Cardinals before they declined his fifth-year option, leaving him open to sign a one-year, $8 million deal with Carolina, despite having posted 12.5 sacks in 2020.

With Philadelphia, he signed a three-year contract for $45 million. By trading Reddick to the Jets, New York picked up the $14.25 million base salary that he’s owed for the 2024 season. To keep him beyond 2024 will require a new contract extension before next March.
