    Olympic surfers are staying in Tahiti, not Paris, and their village is an incredible cruise ship

    Staying in Paris and the Olympics village with its cardboard beds is cool.

    But imagine getting to stay in Tahiti. In a cruise ship. And compete in Olympic events there. You’re in, right?

    Well, that’s what the surfers are doing. Instead of competing in Paris and, say, swimming in the yucky Seine River, they’re staying on a cruise ship called the Aranui 5 in Teahupo’o in Tahiti. Why there? Because it’s a French Polynesian island and, presumably, the surfing conditions there are good.
