NASCAR has concluded the 2024 Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, meaning the Olympic break has begun. NBC Sports will carry coverage for the 2024 Paris Olympics, so NASCAR will stay on the sidelines for the next few weeks. However, when will NASCAR return from the Olympic break in 2024?
The NASCAR Cup and Truck Series will return at Richmond Raceway on August 10-11, but there will be 19 days of zero on-track action from July 22 to August 9. Meanwhile, the NASCAR Xfinity Series won’t return until Michigan International Speedway on August 16-17, which is 26 days of no racing. It is the sport’s biggest break of the 2024 season.
This will be an excellent opportunity for the drivers and teams to breathe before the last 14 weekends of the 2024 NASCAR season. There will be no racing for the next two weekends, meaning it will be almost three weeks until there is racing again. NASCAR doesn’t have many breaks during the season, so this is much needed for the drivers and teams.

Larson 'never gave up' to win The Brickyard 400

Ryan Blaney thought he had a great chance of winning the 2024 Brickyard 400 at Indianapolis Motor Speedway; however, he was on the bad end of an unlucky situation. Going into the first NASCAR overtime, Blaney became the control car after Brad Keselowski ran out of fuel. Kyle Larson then moved up to the inside on the front row and took the lead in Turn 1 before a yellow flag.
Blaney was livid on the radio and couldn’t believe NASCAR allowed it to happen. Yet, NASCAR deemed that Larson didn’t jump the restart and confirmed that Blaney was the control car....

Ryan Blaney was frustrated after finishing third Sunday in the Brickyard 400 but didn’t know who to project those emotions toward. It took double overtime to determine the winner and Blaney felt he was in position to have been that driver. On the first overtime attempt, Blaney chose the outside lane alongside leader Brad Keselowski, who was going to run out of fuel at some point, and Blaney wanted to be ready when it happened.

Returning to the Streets of Toronto, it was an aggressive opening lap that led to a disastrous turn one for the start of the Radical Cup’s third race of the weekend. This set the tone for the rest of the race. With several drivers out of contention early, the door was opened for others to take advantage, but only seven laps of green flag action did not allow for a lot of passing. With Toronto now in the books, the series shifts the focus to the final event of the 2024 season at the Sonoma Raceway in Napa, California.
