JACKSON – Representatives from several law enforcement agencies gathered on Saturday, July 20 to continue the search for a missing woman and her son.

Jackson Police Chief Brenda Burnette told the News-Herald that Sharbrina McGee, age 26 of Jackson, and her three-year-old son, Khance, were reported missing by her family on June 29. The family told Chief Burnette, however, that she had been missing 30-60 days before they reported it.

“There’s no evidence of foul play at this time,” Burnette said, but added that they are not ruling anything out as they continue the search.

McGee is a 5’-5’’ Black female with black hair and brown eyes. She was last seen in the Seaboard area.

On Saturday, the department and several other organizations conducted a door-to-door canvass in Jackson, Seaboard, and Weldon.

“We were able to get flyers with their pictures and information into community hands,” said Burnette. “We did get some leads and we are following up with them.”

She thanked Northampton County Sheriff’s Office, Northampton County Emergency Management, Northampton County Search and Rescue Team, Northampton County C.E.R.T., NC Department of Adult Corrections, Rich Square Fire Department, Garysburg Fire Department, Roanoke Wildwood Fire Department, Halifax County Sheriff’s Office, and Weldon Police Department for participating in Saturday’s search.

“If you see something, say something,” Burnette emphasized.

Anyone with information should contact Chief Burnette at 252-554-9779 or Northampton County Communications Center at 252-574-1041.
