Las Vegas Raiders HC Antonio Pierce reveals what he is looking for from his team during training camp

The Las Vegas Raiders are back. Well, pretty much the entire NFL is, but on Tuesday, head coach Antonio Pierce did the first press conference of the new season. Yes, the new season, as in training camp is where 2024 really starts.

It's the first time we have talked to Antonio Pierce since OTAs, but, nothing has really changed. The Raiders will have everyone at camp. The rookies have been at camp for a few days now, but the veterans are still in Las Vegas and will fly into Southern California on Wednesday to report for camp.

This is Pierce's first camp, so, this is likely going to be a bit different than what we saw in Josh McDaniels' camps, Jon Gruden's camps, and even Jack Del Rio's camps. So, we are learning how it will be as we go, just like Pierce is. A lot of this is new, but even with that new feeling, Pierce still knows what he wants to get out of it.

"Bonding, competition, physicality. Creating the Raider identity and putting our stamp on what we want our play style to look like," Antonio Pierce said at the introductory presser to training camp in Costa Mesa, California.

This Raiders group is already pretty close, but getting away from what you're used to on the day-to-day, and doing something different that's not what you will do during the season every day, will help.

"Team bonding. All about ball," Pierce said a few weeks ago. "I want us to be the tightest group of Raiders that hopefully this organization has seen. That's what we want to be built on. Does it help that it's a little cooler [temperature]? No doubt. But, more importantly, it's good for our team to bond."

The Raiders are hoping to have a successful season in 2024. But it starts in training camp. That's where the success starts.
