OTTAWA COUNTY, Okla. (KOAM) — Just after 4:30 p.m. Tuesday we started receiving information of large police presence near Devils Promenade on Spring River.

Authorities say they responded to the area for a possible drowning.

“911 Emergency Dispatch received a call about a possible drowning at Devil’s Promenade State Park, east of Quapaw,” Quapaw Nation Marshals state. Within minutes Quapaw Nation Marshals, Quapaw Nation Fish & Game and Ottawa County Sheriff Deputies were on scene and began to gather information. As more units arrived on scene a Good Samaritan allowed officers to utilize his boat. Emergency responders began search and rescue efforts. A short time later Grand River Dam Authority (GRDA) Police arrived with their boats, capable of searching with side sonar. After gathering all the facts, interviewing witnesses on scene, and an extensive search, officials determined the search is complete. At this time we do not believe there is a victim of a drowning incident.”
