Some fans will tell you that rock & roll is dead. They believe it fizzled out after the genre’s ’70s heyday. Nowadays anything claiming to be apart of the genre is watered down. Nevertheless, one of rock’s greatest icon’s, Stevie Nicks, had heralded a modern band as the next “Huge force in rock.” Find out which band that is, below.

HAIM’s genre is hard to pin down. There are definitely some rock influences in the mix, but many would sooner place them in the pop ranks. Nicks, however, sees them as a powerful force in the rock world.

“They came to my house to do a photo session for T Magazine, so I came down the stairs, with my IPod player, playing ‘Go Slow,’” Nicks once said. “I came down the stairs with that just blasting. That was our first connection. Right now, I am listening to Haim, whom I think are going to be a huge force in rock n’ roll.”

Nicks went further with her praise of the band by dedicating their song, “Hallelujah” to her late friend and bandmate Christine McVie.

“Since Saturday, one song has been swirling around in my head, over and over and over,” Nicks wrote at the time. “I thought I might possibly get to sing it to her, and so, I’m singing it to her now. I always knew I would need these words one day. (Written by the Ladies Haim). It’s all I can do now…”

The Haim sisters reciprocated the love shortly after. Alana Haim (who penned the song for her late friend) wrote, “Im at a loss for words…I would listen to Fleetwood Mac with my best friend Sammi Kane Kraft constantly. I wrote my verse to hallelujah to try to help me heal after she had passed. Seeing Stevie and Christine together changed my life forever and made me want to play music. I’m speechless. I love you so much Stevie, rip beautiful songbird.”
