Despite TNT Sports' recent efforts to match a media rights offer previously agreed upon by the NBA and Amazon Prime Video, it appears the league has chosen to move forward with its original deal with Amazon.

On Wednesday, the NBA released a statement indicating that TNT Sports' parent company Warner Bros. Discovery failed to match the offer from Amazon.

"Warner Bros. Discovery’s most recent proposal did not match the terms of Amazon Prime Video’s offer and, therefore, we have entered into a long-term arrangement with Amazon,” the statement from the NBA read.

With its current media rights deal with the NBA set to expire after the 2024-25 season, the association's 35-year partnership with TNT Sports appears to be coming to an end.

As a result, fans cannot wait to wait to watch Charles Barkley on what will be the final season of TNT's hit show, Inside the NBA .

"One thing's for sure: Charles Barkley's 'Inside the NBA' will be must-see TV next season as they likely say goodbye to viewers," Michael McCarthy posted on X. "Can you imagine The Chuckster unplugged -- even more than he is now?

    "Lord almighty."

Despite the NBA's intentions to move forward with the Amazon offer, TNT Sports does not seem to be backing down.

The network recently released a statement indicating it will take 'appropriate action' against the NBA, alleging that the league "grossly misinterpreted our contractual rights."
