YORK COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM) — A former Vice President for a York County garbage collection company is being accused of embezzling tens of thousands of dollars from the business for years, according to police.

York County Regional Police said Jeremy Knaub’s duties at Tiger Trash included keeping track of bank and credit information and he was also in charge of using company funds just for business purposes.

Knaub is accused of embezzling $60,419 between 2018 through his termination in 2023. Police said he is accused of buying personal items, such as concert and airline tickets, a rental vehicle, gas, alcohol and even using money to pay off a speeding ticket.

There were fraudulent credit card transactions done at different places such as Hollywood Casino, Calloway Crossgates Golf, and Staples by Knaub, police said.

Duo charged with stealing sports cars from Gettysburg-area dealership; connected to other thefts

For those buys, Knaub would use the company card and then reimburse himself, so he “duplicated embezzlement on the same transactions,” police said in the charges. Some receipts were also whited out to hide the reason for the purchases.

A benefit of Knaub’s position that he is also accused of abusing is being able to expense his country club membership through the company, however, purchasing meals, apparel, or golf clubs was not allowed.

Police said there was paperwork where Knaub forged a signature, that allowed him to sign any legal or registration documents for the company.

Knaub faces felony charges of theft, receiving stolen property and forgery.

Knaub posted his unsecured bail which was set at $50,000 and has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Sept. 12.
