With the NBA season over and the WNBA season paused, the basketball world will be focused on the Paris Olympics for the coming weeks. With USA Basketball bringing one of their most talented rosters in recent history to Paris, other teams around the world know a path to gold will be challenging.

There is a lot of international talent in the NBA, with arguably the league's best player being Slovenian guard Luka Doncic. Leading his Dallas Mavericks to the NBA Finals, Doncic was not able to lead Slovenia to the Olympics, as they fell to Greece in the qualifying tournament.

While Doncic will not have an opportunity to compete in the Olympics this summer, his NBA accomplishments at age 25 already have him among the best players of this generation. This is why ESPN made the big announcement on Thursday that Doncic had received the 25th and final spot on their list of the best 21st century NBA players.

In his six NBA seasons, Doncic has averaged 28.7 points per game, 8.7 rebounds per game, and 8.3 assists per game. Already with five All-Star and All-NBA selections, Doncic's young career is off to an incredible start.

Whenever ESPN announces a list like this, it becomes a major debate topic in the sports world. This is why their inclusion of Doncic on a list with much more experienced players is such a big announcement. That said, it is hard to argue with the resume of Doncic, especially after this most recent playoff run.
