Sunny this weekend, chance of storms next week

FORECAST Storm Watch Team Meteorologist Michele Powers says the sky has cleared out nicely and the humidity has finally dropped. More sunshine is expected for tomorrow and the weekend. The only issue may be the high-altitude smoke and haze from the wildfires in Canada. With a change in the weather pattern over the Northeast, this may allow some of that smoke that's been hitting the northern Plains to make it this far east. Temperatures will respond to the sunshine and start to warm back up again. Highs will return to normal and then go above normal starting Sunday. Temperatures will heat up again starting on Sunday. Look for some upper 80s going into next week. This could be the start of a heat wave again in the region. The only fly in the ointment regarding our nice weather is a low pressure system that may develop offshore Monday into Tuesday. This may enhance rain chances for Monday and help bring in more humidity around that time. Temperatures may be slightly lower now for this time frame.
