Canada's Giannis Antetokounmpo Defense Draws Caitlin Clark Comparison

Greece and Canada squared off in their first contest of the 2024 Summer Olympics, and while Giannis Antetokounmpo had a big game (34 PTS, 5 REB, 2 AST, 11-17 FGM), it wasn't enough to get the win, as the Canadians picked up an 86-79 victory.

While Antetokounmpo was great, he didn't get much support from his teammates. So, Canada did whatever they could to slow down the Milwaukee Bucks superstar, throwing multiple bodies at him whenever they could.

One such play saw four different guys swarming towards Giannis, with fans quickly noting how it looked eerily similar to how some teams in the WNBA have guarded Caitlin Clark during her standout rookie campaign.

While Clark is a fantastic passer anyways, the amount of attention teams send her way has resulted in her racking up 8.2 assists per game, which is tops in the WNBA currently.

Antetokounmpo didn't have as much success passing the ball unfortunately, as he finished the day with just two assists despite all the attention he received.

Giannis still had a big day at the office, but he will try to lead Greece to victory in their next game against Spain when they square off on Tuesday.
