    Ohio county fairs aren't done: See which ones are next on the calendar

    Here in central Ohio, county fair festivities will last as late as October, gracing the region with exciting grandstand events, buttery fair foods and thrilling rides. Here is a roundup of remaining county fairs in the area.

    Hartford Fair

    Licking County's annual Hartford Fair will take place at 14028 Fairgrounds Road in Hartford from Sunday, Aug. 4 to Saturday, Aug. 10. Admission will be $10 at the door or $9.50 online and free for children 8 and under. On Monday, Aug. 5, seniors and veterans can have discounted admission for $5 between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Grandstand seats are free.

    The fair schedule includes events such as an ice cream eating contest, a whoopie-pie baking contest and horse shows, with live music throughout the week.

    Delaware County Fair

    The Delaware County Fair will take place at 236 Pennsylvania Ave. in Delaware from Saturday, Sept. 14 to Saturday, Sept. 21. General admission will be $8 and free for children under 8 with the exception of Thursday, Sep. 19, Jug Day, when admission will be $20.

    There will be free admission for seniors on Tuesday, Sept. 17 and for military personnel on Friday, Sept. 20. Grandstand tickets are not included in general admission.

    Entertainment options include live music, motor sports in the evening and the Little Brown Jug Harness horse race.

    Fairfield County Fair

    The "last and best of the season" will take place at 157 E. Fair Ave. in Lancaster from Sunday, Oct. 6 to Saturday, Oct. 12. General admission is $10 every day and free for children 9 and under. There will be discounted $3 admission for senior citizens on Wednesday, Oct. 9. Grandstand tickets will be available for purchase online starting Aug. 1.

    Grandstand entertainment events include bull and barrel racing, demolition derbies, a human tractor-pull competition and more.
