Cameron Boozer (No. 2 in the 2025 On3 150) and Cayden Boozer (No. 29 in the 2025 On3 150) just won their third (of three) Nike Peach Jam Championship. Those three titles join the twins’ two FIBA gold medals with USA Basketball and three Florida 7A high school state championships. The 17-year-old rising high school seniors are the twin sons of former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer.

When it comes to the pair’s recruitment, things have been somewhat quiet. They have taken four official visits to this point and they are non-committal whether they will take more. The visits have been to Miami, Duke, Florida, and Kentucky (when John Calipari was the head coach).

In speaking with the Boozer twins, they have maintained that they wished to sign during the early period and they were not going to make any movements until Peach Jam ended. Now we are in that window of time, let’s go through where things are at with their recruitment.

    Boozer’s intel and timeline

While schools like Michigan, UNC, Arkansas, and a Mark Pope-led Kentucky program have popped up in recruiting conversations with Cameron Boozer and Cayden Boozer, those programs have not been able to get the twins on campus for an official visit.

The two programs that sources close to the recruitment have continued to talk about in connection with the Boozer twins are Duke and Miami. The thought early in their high school careers was that the twins were a lock to Duke. Their dad, Carlos Boozer , won a National Championship with the Blue Devils.

Around the early parts of 2024, sources started to suggest the momentum shifted toward Miami. As the year continued, the talk of the home town Hurricanes continued to grow. In speaking with the Boozers, they talk about their long-standing relationship with coaches and even attending the Hurricanes’ little kids’ basketball camp while growing up.

Even with the Boozers putting their recruitment on the back burner to focus on their high school and travel basketball seasons, both Miami and Duke have made them a priority. Their Miami (FL) Christopher Columbus High team finished 29-5 this high school season and their Nightrydas team finished 21-1 on Nike’s EYBL Circuit this summer.

In speaking with sources around the recruitment in the days since Peach Jam ended, I am told that Duke has picked up momentum within the last month or so. One source even suggested that the Blue Devils have at least, evened things up, if not possibly have taken the lead here. I have not made an RPM yet for either player’s recruitment.

    What are we watching for?

It is worth noting that while programs are positioning themselves in this recruitment, Cameron and Cayden Boozer have not set a commitment date. The pair have also not publicly given a clear and concise recruiting timeline moving forward. The timing of that is something to watch for. Also, will they take any further visits? Will any of the newer schools get them on campus?

This recruitment is not a slam dunk. While players are now allowed to take unlimited official visits, they are only able to take a single official to each school throughout their process. While sources say that Miami carried a lot of the momentum through the first part of 2024, I am told that Duke is making a push down the stretch. Can another school hop in? The first step would be getting them on campus.

Continue to pay attention to On3 for all the latest as commitment information and/or new visit details start to come out.
