Brittney Griner Makes Her Opinion Of A'ja Wilson Extremely Clear

A'ja Wilson has arguably been the best player in the WNBA this season. But beyond Wilson's lofty on-court numbers, Brittney Griner recently pointed to Wilson's leadership on Team USA.

Wilson and Griner are teammates on the Team USA women's basketball team looking to garner another gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

In a recent interview with Andscape's Marc J. Spears, Griner spoke about how easy it is to follow Wilson's lead.

“She always leads by example,” Griner told Spears. “She always puts in the hard work. She is going to do everything that is asked of her and beyond. When you have someone like that, it’s easy to follow behind them and come, show up and do what we need to do. She plays at such a high level. I’m happy for her.”

Wilson has been the WNBA's leading scorer by a country mile through the 2024 season thus far. The Las Vegas Aces star has averaged 27.2 points on 52.7 percent shooting from the field. She's also neck-and-neck with Angel Reese as the league's top rebounder.

With the Team USA women's basketball team chasing an eighth straight gold medal, Wilson will be right at the center of it all.
