Watch these sporty seniors going for gold in a mock Olympic Games

A group of 60 seniors in California has been proving that you’re never too old to go for the gold.

Residents at the Belmont Village Senior Living community in Hollywood Hills rose to the challenge of taking part in a mock Olympics to coincide with the Olympic Summer Games in Paris.

The mock games, including a torch run, and events such as cornhole, relay racing, dancing, and basketball, were designed to promote physical fitness, mental health, and a sense of community among residents in their seventies, eighties, and nineties!

Though gold medals were on the line, competition was, shall we say, not fierce. But in the true spirit of the Olympics, everyone was a winner just by doing the best they could and taking part.
