Kirby Smart's Georgia Bulldogs landed an intriguing class of 2025 prospect out of Berlin, Germany on Monday.

JJ Hanne, who has played football for only two years, is headed to Athens via Santa Margarita Catholic High School in Rancho Santa Margarita, California.

Hanne (6-foot-5, 280 pounds), a three-star prospect, is rated as the No. 73 DL, the No. 51 player in the state and the No. 677 player nationally.

Hanne possesses physical traits that the Bulldogs look for along the defensive front. Size and athleticism are apparent for Hanne, who grew up playing basketball and soccer before making the transition to football.

Three-star prospects are often looked over when it comes to marquee programs like UGA. But when Kirby Smart reaches for a three-star, history tells us to take notice.

Former DL Jordan Davis is one of the many unheralded recruits that Smart and company developed into a first-round NFL draft pick before it was all said and done.

While it's unfair to put similar expectations on Hanne – he has a long way to go to contribute at the SEC level – it wouldn't be a surprise to see him succeed under the tutelage of the Georgia staff.

The Bulldogs currently hold the No. 3 class in the 2025 cycle, per 247Sports.
