It has been an up-and-down showing for New York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones at training camp, but he finally put together his best day of practice.

Though the team decided not to wear the pads Thursday, Jones finally looked sharp for the first time since camp began last week coming off a day off.

According to Paul Schwartz of The New York Post , Jones had some impressive connections down the field.

"After a sluggish practice Tuesday, Daniel Jones on a hot day put together his best action so far this summer — highlighted by deep completions for touchdowns to Malik Nabers and Jalin Hyatt, a nice toss to rookie TE Theo Johnson and several on-target shorter throws," Schwartz wrote.

Coming off a torn ACL, Jones has been taking every rep with the first-team offense since the start of camp. It's been all individual drills and 11-on-11 drills — no 7-on-7s.

One of the major concerns during camp has been his consistent underthrows on deep passes. The Giants are looking to unlock more downfield plays, which is something that has been limited in Jones' tenure.

To say that Jones needs to get off to a hot start this season is an understatement. While it would take a lot to make Drew Lock the starter, Jones' future with the Giants likely hangs in the balance once the season is done.

Stacking days together like this will be important so Jones will need to come back with another strong day Friday before another day off going into the weekend.
