Even Gerald Everett's Unsexy Fantasy Value Might Be Gone

This offseason, Gerald Everett signed with the Bears after playing two years with the Chargers. In the last five seasons, Everett has managed to top 400 yards. However, he has never been a major threat in the red zone, producing only 4 TDs in his best season.

Last season, Everett had a stranglehold on the TE position in LA, which led to three top-ten and five top-20 finishes. Unfortunately for Everett, he is not a major red zone threat, nor does he have the breakaway speed for big play ability.

This season, he will be backing up fellow TE Cole Kmet, which alone will limit how much Everett is used in the passing game. The Bears also have plenty of weapons in WRs, such as Keenan Allen, DJ Moore, and Rome Odunze, and a nice receiving RB in D’Andre Swift.

This may be the first season in the last five years that Everett should not be rostered, barring any injuries to the other playmakers on the Bears.

Our consensus projections for Everett in the 2024 season are 22 receptions, 204 yards, and 1 touchdown.
