Toronto Maple Leafs star forward Mitch Marner has been the subject of trade rumors, but no deal has come to fruition yet. Marner is entering the final year of the six-year $65.41 million deal he signed in 2019. With Marner in the final year of his deal, he has been part of plenty of mock trades, but Toronto has yet to trade him and all signs point to him remaining a member of the Maple Leafs.

Canadian outlet Sportsnet “quietly parted ways” with NHL broadcaster Jeff Marek after he was accused of tipping draft picks to a friend, according to a report in The Athletic.

Marek was a commentator on the NHL Draft for the network.

He had gone dark on social media since July 9, with no TV appearances or episodes of his “32 Thoughts” podcast, and fans of his were concerned.



“Jeff Marek of 32 Thoughts has completely disappeared from the face of the earth since the evening of the draft,” X user Jack Manning tweeted on July 23.

The Knicks continued to fill out the back of their training camp roster by signing Magic forward Chuma Okeke on Thursday to a non-guaranteed Exhibit 10 deal, a league source confirmed.

Okeke, the 16th overall pick in the 2019 draft, will receive an invite to training camp with the Knicks after he was in and out of improved Orlando’s rotation last season.

In his first two years with the Magic, Okeke made 39 starts among 115 games played and posted 8.3 points and 4.6 boards over 25.1 minutes per game.

Michael Scotto of HoopsHype was first to report the Okeke agreement.

The Knicks still have one guaranteed roster spot available after bringing back forward/center Precious Achiuwa earlier this week on a one-year deal worth $6 million.
