Scottie Scheffler brought home gold for the United States on Sunday, posting a stunning 9-under 62 en route to a 19-under victory at Le Golf National.

The reigning Masters champion entered Sunday's final round four strokes off the lead in a tie for sixth. But with his scorching bogey-free final round, he was able to claim victory over Tommy Fleetwood (18-under) and Hideki Matsuyama (17-under).

With this gold medal, Scheffler added to his already all-time great resume. He also recorded some Olympic history.

Scheffler is the first player to enter the Olympics as the world No. 1 player and win gold.

Scheffler has six wins on the PGA Tour in the 2024 season alone, but this Olympic gold clearly holds a special place in his heart. The 28-year-old golfer was brought to tears on the podium as The Star-Spangled Banner played.

Scheffler's Olympic title marks the second consecutive gold medal for the United States. Xander Schauffele, Scheffler's American teammate, won gold at the Tokyo Games in 2021.
