The 2023 season didn’t start out the way that the New York Jets would have liked despite a win in Week 1. This year, the Jets will once again be on Monday Night Football in a massive game to start the season against the San Francisco 49ers.
Despite beating the Buffalo Bills to begin the season last year, the loss of Aaron Rodgers effectively ended the 2023 campaign for the Jets in Week 1. This year, the Jets will be hoping to get off to a much better start, as they will be trying to end their lengthy playoff drought.
In Week 1, Rodgers and the Jets are going to be tested right away against the 49ers. The defending NFC Champions will be looking to set the tone for their own season, and New York better be prepared for a tough game.
Despite the difficult game to start the season, Bleacher Report recently named the Jets as a team that could get off to a hot start.

“This year, the New York Jets will be out for a similar win in Week 1. They’ll kick off the Monday Night Football schedule with a matchup against the defending NFC champion San Francisco 49ers.
If New York can pull off the upset with a healthy Aaron Rodgers and its fierce defense, the table will be set for one of the hottest starts in the league.
The next three teams on the schedule are the Titans, Patriots and Broncos. The Titans are rebuilding under a new head coach, the Patriots will likely be starting Jacoby Brissett at quarterback and the Jets know how bad it looks that the Broncos have a quarterback competition involving Zach Wilson right now.”
Jets need to take care of business against lesser opponents
While Week 1 is going to be a tough game on the road, the Jets can win that game with a healthy Rodgers. Luckily, things get very easy for the Jets after that, as they will be playing three teams that should be near the bottom of the league when the season is all said and done.
If the Jets can upset the 49ers, they very well could be 4-0 to start the season. At the very least, the likelihood is that the Jets will be 3-1 to start the season, as they shouldn’t lose to the Titans, Patriots, or Broncos.
Considering how challenging the AFC is going to be once again this season, the Jets need to make sure they avoid any letdowns.
