A new college football season is almost upon us after some significant changes. Last season, the Michigan Wolverines and Washington Huskies competed for a national title. Now, both programs will have new head coaches in 2024.

Various programs are now in different conferences. The Texas Longhorns and Oklahoma Sooners are now in the SEC. The Big 12 added the Colorado Buffaloes, Utah Utes, Arizona Wildcats, and Arizona State Sun Devils.

The ACC now has the SMU Mustangs, California Golden Bears, and Stanford Cardinal. The Big Ten added the Oregon Ducks, Washington Huskies, USC Trojans, and UCLA Bruins.

The Preseason USA TODAY Coaches Poll was released on Monday. The Georgia Bulldogs, Ohio State Buckeyes, Oregon Ducks, Texas Longhorns, and Alabama Crimson Tide took the top five spots in that order.

Here is how the rest of the rankings looked:

    No. 1: Georgia

Georgia will attempt to reach the College Football Playoff in 2024 after a loss to Alabama in the SEC Championship kept the Bulldogs out. The playoff is now in a 12-team format this season.

Ohio State has lost to Michigan in three straight seasons and has its sights on the playoff, too. Oregon will aim to avenge its Pac-12 Championship loss to Washington, which kept them from reaching the playoff, while the Longhorns want to prove they belong in the SEC.

Alabama enters into a new era in 2024 with Nick Saban retired. Kalen DeBoer is the man who will try to keep the Crimson Tide rolling this season.

Another exciting season of college football is just around the corner.
