Snoop Dogg took a break from providing lighthearted commentary on the 2024 Olympic Games to serenade Team USA athletes with a live performance of some of his greatest hits.

The performance, which was in celebration of the 50th anniversary of USA Basketball’s inaugural appearance at the Olympics, took place on Monday (Aug. 5) at the Team USA House at the Palais Brongniart.

The show was attended by the full 2024 U.S. Men’s and Women’s teams, with LeBron James, Steph Curry, A’ja Wilson, Brittney Griner, Kevin Durant, Anthony Edwards, Diana Taurasi, Sabrina Ionescu, and more present as Tha Doggfather ran through classics such as his 2004 single, “Drop It Like It’s Hot,” and an impromptu cover of R&B trio Next’s late ’90s groove “Too Close.”

One highlight from Snoop’s set came as various members of the U.S. Women’s roster joined the rapper onstage, as Kahleah Copper, Chelsea Gray, Jewell Loyd, and Breanna Stewart got in on the festivities, which also included appearances from former U.S. Olympians Carmelo Anthony, Andre Iguodala, Chris Mullin, Gary Payton, Dwayne Wade, and Sue Bird.

Snoop’s presence at the 2024 Paris Olympics has been nothing short of priceless, as the veteran hitmaker fully leaned into his image as an international darling and stateside ambassador. In addition to providing live coverage of the games alongside comedian Kevin Hart for NBC and Peacock, the 52-year-old has filled his time in France by going on various side missions , which have included him swimming with Olympic legend Michael Phelps and clowning around with iconic gymnast Simone Biles.

However, Snoop’s most historic endeavor during his Olympic run came when the rapper carried the torch during the final stage of the Olympic Torch Relay prior to the games’ Opening Ceremony, a first for a Hip-Hop artist.
