It was probably a long shot for Brazil when it came to beating Team USA in the quarterfinals of the Paris Olympics. However, impressing some of the players on the team certainly had a better chance.

The U.S. dominated the Brazilians throughout the course of the game Tuesday. Six players scored in double-digits as the Americans routed Brazil 122-87. Devin Booker and Anthony Edwards had the most points on the team with 35 combined, while Team USA shot lights out from the field with clips of 57.7% overall and 48.4% from three.

Even though Brazil did not have the offense to match Team USA's firepower, one of their players put up a strong fight nonetheless.

That player was Bruno Caboclo. He was the brightest spot of Brazil's performance, putting up a game-high 30 points, six rebounds, and an assist on 13-of-20 shooting from the field. This was right after a dominant 33-point, 17-rebound showing against Japan in the group stage

His display caught the attention of Edwards, who was more than impressed with how competitive Caboclo was against the U.S. as he didn't even know who he was.

"I didn't know Bruno Caboclo. He's so good! I was impressed," Edwards said.

Quite surprising to see that Edwards admit his lack of knowledge about Caboclo, who entered the NBA in 2014 as a young sensation and played for seven years, with his last team being the Houston Rockets in 2021.

Regardless, if he didn't know Caboclo then, he certainly does now.
