Joel Embiid may not have received a warm reception in Paris during the 2024 Olympic Games, but he enjoyed the last laugh on Tuesday as Team USA dominated Brazil 122-87 in the quarterfinals.

In the latter part of the first half, Embiid seized a rebound following a Jayson Tatum miss, scoring a basket and earning an and-one chance. In response, Embiid indulged in his signature DX chop celebration, facing the audience that had jeered him throughout the Olympics.

American rapper Snoop Dogg, who was seated courtside alongside Las Vegas Aces star A'Ja Wilson, caught sight of Embiid's celebration and decided to give it a go himself.

Embiid has frequently performed the DX chop, a gesture inspired by the WWE's D-Generation X, throughout his NBA career, resulting in a $60,000 fine for its use during the games.

"Oh no, [the NBA] still might find a way [to fine me], but that felt good," Embiid said Tuesday via ESPN . "It's good to have fun, too, because at the end of the day, you got to take something out of this experience."

Embiid faced boos from the Parisian crowd for opting to represent Team USA, despite earlier statements considering playing for the host nation in the Olympics. Born in Cameroon, Embiid, who has French relatives, became eligible to play for France after receiving citizenship in 2022.

In a 12-minute stint for Team USA on Tuesday, Embiid scored 14 points on 5-of-6 shooting, getting seven rebounds and a block as well. He is set to compete in the semifinal game between Team USA and Serbia on Aug. 8.
