Heartbroken Josh Giddey Reacts to Olympics Exit

Australia's Olympic campaign has come to an end. The Boomers were red-hot from the field, making 19 of their first 24 shots. They raced to an early lead and stretched that by up to 24 points before halftime. Chicago Bulls star Josh Giddey and former NBA champion Patty Mills led the way in the first half with their shot-making prowess.
However, the Serbians came roaring right back in the second half. They were able to tie the game and nearly won it in regulation. Mills gave Australia a chance by sending it to overtime. However, Serbia's suffocating defense was too much for the team to overcome.
After the game, Giddey was emotional. The Bulls guard talked about the heartbreaking loss and expressed regret at not capitalizing on their chances.
"We had so many chances," Giddey said. "It's heartbreaking and it kills me that I have to wait 4 more years for another chance at this."
Giddey finished the game with 25 points, five rebounds, and four assists. He was a key catalyst to the team's early success with his aggressive attacking and skillful passing.
However, his seven turnovers turned out to be the death of Australia in the game. His final turnover, a botched inbounds pass while they trailed by three, all but sealed the game for Serbia's historic comeback.
To make matters worse, Giddey appeared to twist his ankle in the final moments of the game. The former first-round pick limped off the court in pain. It's not clear yet how this will affect his debut season with the Bulls in a few months.
