SAN FRANCISCO ( KRON ) — When Kendrick Lamar and Drake did battle this summer as an unofficial means of deciding who the top rapper of this generation was, Stephen Curry did not weigh in. Until Monday.

GQ asked the Golden State Warriors guard if he wanted to comment on the feud between the hip-hop stars.

“I’m a big Drake guy. I’ve been for a long time. I think obviously you know what it is for the rap industry to have that, but I still rock with Drake. Absolutely. Absolutely,” Curry said.

Other NBA stars have already picked a side. Los Angeles natives DeMar DeRozan and Russell Westbrook were on stage from Lamar’s “Pop Out” show on Juneteenth, and LeBron James was spotted in the crowd .

Curry’s name was actually mentioned in the beef. Lamar warned, “LeBron, keep the family away, hey, Curry, keep the family away,” on his song “Meet The Grahams,” where he accuses Drake of predatory behavior.

However, Drake has paid homage to Curry for years. He coined the nickname “Chef Curry” on the song “0 to 100 / The Catch Up” with the famous line “I been Steph Curry with the shot.
Been cookin’ with the sauce, Chef Curry with the pot, boy.” Curry won his first MVP a year after the song’s release in 2014.

Curry hinted at what side he would choose earlier this summer. While Lamar’s hit “Not Like Us” was playing at an arena, a camera caught Curry seemingly saying “It’s not the only song in America.” James responded, “I love it.”
