Man’s body found in water on Okaloosa Island

OKALOOSA COUNTY, Fla. ( WKRG ) — Deputies are investigating after a man’s body was found Sunday. According to a Facebook post made Sunday evening, a body was found in the water behind “The Boardwalk” on Okaloosa Island.

Right now, they’re still trying to determine who the man is. The post didn’t specify how the man died and officials said they’ll know more once the Medical Examiner’s Office conducts an autopsy.

It’s not clear if the victim is from the area or an out-of-town tourist. We don’t know if rough surf played a role in the death. Several public beaches had red flag warnings this weekend due to dangerous surf conditions.
