A 42-year old man who Melbourne police said robbed a convenience store with a flare gun was arrested Sunday.

Patrick Parris was charged with robbery with a deadly weapon after witnesses identified him in connection with the robbery of a Chevron station at 1800 S. Harbor Blvd.

Melbourne Police said Parris walked into the gas station about 8 p.m. Saturday, displayed a flare gun and demanded cash and cigarettes from the clerk. No one was injured.

Officers searched the area and talked to several witnesses. Parris was later tracked to an unspecified location and taken into custody, police said.

He was taken to the Brevard County Jail complex in Sharpes.
