    Amazon driver calls 911 after seeing fire in Chesterfield home

    CHESTERFIELD COUNTY, Va. (WRIC) — Four people were displaced by a kitchen fire in their Chesterfield County home Wednesday night, with an Amazon driver being the one to call 911 after they saw the flames.

    According to Chesterfield County Fire & EMS, the evening of Wednesday, Aug. 28, an Amazon driver delivering packages in the 7500 block of Elkhardt Road saw a home on fire and called 911.

    Firefighters responded at about 7:34 p.m., arriving on the scene to find fire in the kitchen of the home. They were able to put out the flames within 20 minutes.

    No one was injured, but the damage has displaced four residents. They are being assisted by the Red Cross.

    Fire officials said “unattended cooking” appears to have caused the fire.
