Jake Medlock and Darius Prince connected on the first two touchdowns providing some cushion but the Storm managed to find the end zone to make it a one-possession game in the second quarter. Matt Struck scored on a QB sneak inside the five.

Despite that, Medlock and Prince hooked up again for a third time in the half. The offense scored another touchdown and went into halftime with a 37-8 lead.

The defense forced three turnovers in the game, scored on a fumble recovery, and held the Storms’ offense to 15 points. The lowest point total the unit has held an opposing team to this season.

In the second half, rookie quarterback Evan Lewandowski went under center and threw four touchdowns. He found a connection with Darien Townsend who hauled in two touchdowns in the second half.

The Firebirds will return to action on Friday, May 24 against the West Texas Desert Hawks. Kick-off is scheduled for 7:00 pm.
