Sunday’s drug discovery at the Camino Real International Bridge occurred after CBP officers sent a older model Chevrolet van to a secondary inspection after it crossed from Piedras Negras, Mexico. The car was put through non-intrusive inspection equipment, which can see through the floorboards and into hidden compartments of vehicles.

Officers found 31 packages totaling almost 70 pounds of drugs believed to be methamphetamine. They also found a 2.6-pound package believed to be heroin within the walls of three food ovens that were located on the roof rack of the van, CBP said Wednesday .
