"I could use a Wolverine, I could use a Deadpool. I could use someone."

Jennifer Garner attended her first Comic-Con hoping to meet a superhero, but it took more than an hour for one to appear.

On Thursday, the 52-year-old actress attended her first Comic-Con in San Diego to celebrate her appearance in Deadpool & Wolverine, where she delighted fans by returning to her role as Elektra. However, Garner encountered difficulties when she found herself trapped in an elevator with several others at the Hard Rock Hotel San Diego in California.

Through a series of Instagram videos, Garner shared her experience of being stuck in the elevator, hoping for assistance from emergency services.

"Hey guys, um, we're stuck on this elevator," Garner said in the first clip, just two minutes into the ordeal. "I could use a Wolverine, I could use a Deadpool. I could use someone.”

The next clip showed Garner 11 minutes into the saga, still trapped in the elevator, looking a tad shinier than before. "It's toasty,” she admitted in the video. “I'm sphitzy, I need to blot."

Turning her attention to the person operating the elevator, she quipped, "We've been told not to cut the blue wire."

By the 35-minute mark, Garner was sitting on the elevator floor: “I think I heard on an episode of The Office or Brooklyn Nine-Nine or something that you’re supposed to sit,” she explained. “So we’re sitting.”

Then, 41 minutes into their ordeal in the elevator, Garner initiated a game of "99 Bottles of Beer" with the others. However, the light-hearted atmosphere quickly dissipated as the 45-minute update revealed someone in the group had made the call to 911, indicating they were still without assistance.

"Within the span of an hour," the lights and noises came back on, yet the elevator stayed put. To maintain a positive atmosphere, Garner softly crooned Madonna's "Like a Prayer," a track from the intense third scene of Deadpool & Wolverine. Eventually, after 12 minutes, the firefighters managed to open the elevator doors, leading Garner and his crew to burst into cheers and claps.

The happy ending was also cause for celebration amongst Garner’s celebrity friends.

“OMG,” Gina Torres comments on the post. “Let that be a lesson to all you kids out there! Always pray to Madonna!”

Meanwhile, others praised Garner for keeping her cool for over an hour. “Okay, no way oh my god how are you so calm,” asked Gwyneth Paltrow, while Tracee Ellis Ross added, “Oh my! Well done on staying calm!”

It's not clear when Garner found herself stuck in the elevator during her Comic-Con adventure, but she did have the chance to enjoy her time in San Diego with other actors from Deadpool & Wolverine. "I was ecstatic to be at #sdcc with these amazing pals," she posted, sharing a video that included stars like Ryan Reynolds, Hugh Jackman, Emma Corrin, and surprise guests Dafne Keen, Wesley Snipes, Chris Evans, and Channing Tatum.

The movie not only brings together its main characters but also brings back past Marvel characters from before the MCU era: Garner's Elektra from the 2003 Daredevil and 2005 Elektra movies, Tatum's unmade Gambit film, and Snipes from his Blade movies.

Deadpool & Wolverine is now playing in theaters.
