In the NFC East, the Dallas Cowboys and the Philadelphia Eagles have dominated the major part of the last few years. These two teams have consistently been making it to the playoffs while the New York Giants and the Washington Commanders are struggling to get back to winning ways.

It is no surprise then that both the Cowboys and the Eagles have the best quarterbacks within this division. Despite having four losing seasons out of five, the Giants are still placing their faith in Daniel Jones as their starting quarterback while the Commanders need to decide between rookie Jayden Daniels and nine-year veteran Marcus Mariota.

As a result, three of the four teams already have their starting quarterbacks while the Commanders are yet to decide.

Nevertheless, ranking the signal callers from this division will be quite interesting.

    4. Jayden Daniels, Washington Commanders

Despite him being a rookie, the Commanders are most likely to start Jayden Daniels from Week 1 of the new season. Putting him in fourth place doesn’t seem right considering what he has shown in college football, especially last season when he put forth a Heisman Trophy winning season.

However, Daniels is yet to take a snap in the NFL and until he does so, it is difficult to put him higher on this list. Once the season starts, there is a good chance that Daniels could climb up a spot in third place, but we will have to wait and see what transpires.

Daniels is a dual-threat quarterback who can make plays both with his hands and legs. This will no doubt be an added advantage for the Commanders as they look to get back to winning ways.

    3. Daniel Jones, New York Giants

The sole reason why Jones is third and not fourth on this list is because Daniels has yet to play in the NFL. However, judging by the way Jones has performed over the course of his professional career, it should not take him long to fall a place down to fourth.

Jones has been awful for the Giants, and it is a surprise that he is still on the roster, much less the starter on the team. Since entering the league in 2019, turnovers and injuries have been a huge problem for the former first-round pick with little evidence to suggest a quick turnaround.

    2. Jalen Hurts, Philadelphia Eagles

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts finds himself No. 2 on this list. While it is true that he almost won the Super Bowl two years ago and had two great seasons in 2021 and 2022, he was surprisingly mediocre last season.

Even though the numbers may tell a different story, Hurts had a down year in 2023 where his turnovers were a crucial factor. The gap between him and Dak Prescott for the top spot is not that much. If Hurts can come back with a better performance this year and cut down on his mistakes, he may climb to the top of the quarterback rankings in the NFC East

    1. Dak Prescott, Dallas Cowboys

For the moment, Prescott holds the No. 1 spot for quarterback rankings in the NFC East. His stellar performances from last season certainly go a long way in making his case. In the running for the NFL MVP for most of the year Prescott led the league in completions and passing touchdowns. He had a passer rating of 105.9 and a very commendable completion percentage of 69.5.

Prescott has been unable to get the Cowboys deep into the playoffs for eight years now, but he has worked on his game to cut down the interceptions and improve his pocket play. Having said that, maintaining a high standard of play will be of utmost importance as Hurts and the Eagles are expected to be hot on their tails.
