5 Sleeper Fantasy Football Running Backs You Should Target

    By Shane Mickle,

The NFL season is right around the corner, and that means it’s time to start drafting your Fantasy Football team.

Let’s take a look at five sleeper fantasy football running backs you should target to make your season a winning one.

    Bucky Irving, Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Bucky Irving has a chance to be the best rookie fantasy running back, even though he was drafted with the 125th overall pick. Rachaad White was the main back for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season, but at times, he lacked explosive plays. White is probably the starter to start the season, but Irving could end up being the starter before the season is over. Irving is an explosive back, and especially in dynasty leagues, he should be drafted early.

    Chubba Hubbard, Carolina Panthers

When Jonathon Brooks was drafted early by the Carolina Panthers, many counted out Chubba Hubbard for this season, but that shouldn’t be the case now. Brooks is currently on the PUP list after suffering an ACL injury last season, and it seems this could be a long play with him, as the team will work him back in slowly. Hubbard should be the starter to start the season, and that is something he could end up holding all year. Last season, Hubbard rushed for 902 yards and five touchdowns. He should reach at least that again this year.

    Blake Corum, Los Angeles Rams

Blake Corum might be a rookie, but he will be a huge factor for the Los Angeles Rams this season. Kyren Williams is still the starter for the Rams, but there has been nothing but praise for Corum this offseason. Corum stood out for the Michigan Wolverines, and his game is perfect for the NFL. Sean McVay isn’t afraid to play young guys, and he will give Corum plenty of run this season.

    Kimani Vidal, Los Angeles Chargers

Kimani Vidal hasn’t been talked about much this offseason around the NFL, but he should be. Vidal was a standout among the Troy Trojans, and although he dealt with injuries during training camp, he still should have had a huge role on the Los Angeles Chargers. Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins might be ahead of him on the depth chart, but Vidal could easily surpass them. It could be a running back committee to start, but if Vidal is someone you can get late in a draft, he’s a great piece to have on your bench if he has a huge role.

    Chase Brown, Cincinnati Bengals

It might be a bit of a stretch calling Chase Brown a sleeper, but the buzz around him has been fading a bit. Brown dealt with injuries last season, but he was a weapon when he was healthy last season. Zack Moss is currently listed as the starter on the depth chart, but as long as Brown stays healthy, he will have a huge year for the Cincinnati Bengals.
