Professional golfers are in Jessamine County, practicing for the PGA’s ISCO Championship, which tees off Thursday at Keene Trace Golf Club. They’ll be joined by friends, family members, and golf lovers, and that’s good news for a variety of businesses in Nicholasville and Jessamine County. Ronda May is the executive director of the Jessamine Chamber of Commerce.

“We have people that come and stay in our hotels. They stay in local Airbnbs. Then, of course, they venture out eat, play, you know, different things around while they're here. So our hotels are a huge impact. And then, of course, the restaurants that are surrounding them.”

May said Visit Jessamine – the county’s tourism bureau – has a booth at the annual tournament to let golf fans know about other things to do there.

“We did have several visitors from last year that said, ‘Oh, we're going to come early or stay later so that we can actually go and see a lot of the things that you just shared with us today.’ So that was a great win for us, because yet again, we're getting people to come and stay and truly see what all we are about.”

May said parking at Keene Trace Golf Club is limited and praised Southland Christian Church for offering their parking lot for visitors who’ll take shuttles to the tournament.
